Agatha Obertynski, M.D.

Diplomate, American Board of Ophthalmology

Agatha Obertynski, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care including the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataracts and macular degeneration. Her passion is treating patients who suffer from dry eye disease, offering them advanced diagnostic and treatment methods.

Dr. Obertynski obtained her undergraduate pre-medical education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she was a James B. Angell Scholar graduating with High Distinction and earning membership into the prestigious academic honor societies, Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. She then graduated from the Wayne State University School of Medicine where she was awarded the degree Doctor of Medicine. After finishing an internship at St. John Hospital in Detroit, she completed a three year residency in Ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute of the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. Currently, she is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Dr. Obertynski is a second-generation Eye M.D. who has followed in the footsteps of her mother, a prominent ophthalmologist who practiced in Dearborn and Troy. Outside of the workplace, Dr. Obertynski loves spending time with her husband and three sons. She enjoys reading, playing piano and sports with her children, practicing her Polish language skills, and traveling.
